About the Journal
Engineering: Production & Manufacturing is an engineering journal focused on the entire value chain of production and manufacturing. We contend that the essence of modern engineering lies not merely in isolated technological breakthroughs, but in the synergy and integration among energy systems, materials, precision manufacturing, and transportation. Our mission is to explore the complete engineering landscape—from energy input to product output, from micro‑scale fabrication to macro‑scale systems—driving manufacturing toward greater efficiency, intelligence, and sustainability.
The journal centres on four core domains:
Energy Production and Utilisation: covering clean utilisation of fossil fuels, renewable energy development, hydrogen economy, nuclear power technologies, and the optimisation and smart dispatch of power generation systems;
Materials Production and Processing: focusing on metallic materials, inorganic non‑metallic materials, polymeric materials, composites, as well as the preparation, processing, and property control of electronic and functional materials;
Instrumentation and Precision Manufacturing: addressing scientific instruments and measurement equipment, medical devices, optoelectronics, micro‑ and nano‑fabrication technologies, and precision assembly and packaging processes;
Vehicles and Transportation: encompassing automotive engineering, rail transit, aerospace, naval architecture and ocean engineering, along with powertrain optimisation, lightweight component design, and advanced joining technologies.
Engineering: Production & Manufacturing welcomes theoretical analyses, experimental studies, numerical simulations, process innovations, and system integration contributions. It aims to serve as a cross‑disciplinary technical platform for engineers, researchers, industrial managers, and policymakers to jointly advance the frontiers of production and manufacturing engineering.
